Independence Day 2026 Parade: Bhubaneswar Traffic Advisory, Diversions & Parking Zones
Bhubaneswar, Aug 11: The Commissionerate Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the Independence Day 2026 parade on Mahatma Gandhi Marg.
Restrictions will be in place from August 11 to 15, with diversions designed to ensure smooth movement and public safety.
Heavy vehicles will be barred from entering Master Canteen Square from Ram Mandir and Rajmahal sides.
Two‑wheelers and light vehicles from Rajmahal may proceed toward Ram Mandir but will not be allowed to enter PMG Square.
Traffic from Housing Board to Rabindra Mandap will be diverted at Keshari Talkies Crossing, while vehicles from AG Square to PMG Square will be redirected at Jaydev Bhawan Square.
Additionally, traffic from 120 Battalion Square will be diverted toward Unit‑IV via MLA Colony Crossing.
All lanes connecting to Mahatma Gandhi Marg will remain sealed, permitting only pedestrian movement during parade hours.
Designated parking areas include the BDA Bus Stand near Railway Station, open spaces in front of Congress Bhawan, IDCOL Auditorium, Jaydev Bhawan, SBI Unit‑III, Rabindra Mandap premises, and Unit‑II Girls’ High School Ground.
Authorities have urged citizens to plan their routes in advance and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure safe and orderly celebrations.
