President Murmu Reaches Rairangpur After Weather Delay
Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj: President Droupadi Murmu arrived in her hometown, Rairangpur,, on Friday evening after a weather‑related delay.
The Indian Air Force aircraft carrying her was diverted to Kalaikunda in West Bengal due to adverse conditions, forcing her to travel by road through Bangriposi and Bisoi before reaching Rairangpur nearly two hours late.
Despite the delay, her two‑day Odisha visit remains on schedule.
Later in the evening, she is set to inaugurate the AIIMS satellite centre in Rairangpur, a significant healthcare milestone for the region.
Security was tightened along the route, with local authorities coordinating traffic and crowd management to ensure smooth passage.
Her visit is expected to boost local morale and highlight the government’s commitment to improving healthcare and infrastructure in Mayurbhanj district.
