President Droupadi Murmu Begins Two-Day Odisha Visit; PM Modi to Join Celebrations
President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Mayurbhanj on Friday, beginning a two-day visit to Odisha.
She inaugurated the AIIMS Satellite Centre at Rairangpur, a major step toward strengthening healthcare in northern Odisha.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join her for official engagements, coinciding with Murmu’s birthday.
Both leaders will visit Pahadpur village, pay tribute to Murmu’s late husband, and interact with youth at the Skill Development Institute.
The visit also marks two years of the BJP government in Odisha. A public programme will showcase a documentary highlighting the state’s achievements.
In addition, Murmu will inaugurate key railway projects and a new Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited venture, aimed at boosting industry and employment.
The joint presence of the President and Prime Minister underscores the government’s focus on healthcare, skill development, rural empowerment, infrastructure, and industrial growth.
Both leaders are scheduled to return to New Delhi on Saturday evening.
