Pilgrim Bus Crash in Soro: Driver Dead, 20 Injured
A tragic accident occurred early Sunday morning on National Highway 16 near Bidu Bazaar under the Soro police station limits.
A pilgrim bus carrying around 50 passengers from Andhra Pradesh, returning from Digha to Puri, lost control and rammed into a road divider.
The driver died on the spot, while more than 20 passengers sustained injuries.
Authorities suspect the driver may have dozed off due to fatigue during the early hours.
Local residents quickly alerted police and fire personnel, who rushed to the scene and rescued the trapped passengers.
The injured were shifted to Soro hospital, where doctors are monitoring their condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
