OSEPA & OUAT Partner to Bring Field-Based Vocational Learning to Odisha Schools
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has joined hands with the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) to introduce field-based vocational education in government schools.
The initiative, launched at OUAT’s Conference Hall, will be rolled out in 26 PM SHRI Government Secondary Schools across the state.
Headmasters, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) scientists, SC/ST coordinators, and ADEOs from 20 districts attended the orientation session.
The program aims to provide students of Classes IX and X with hands-on training in six vocational job roles: Mango Grower, Solanaceous Crop Cultivator, Paddy Farmer, Animal Health Worker, Dairy Worker, and Citrus Fruit Grower.
OUAT will extend institutional support, including access to laboratories, farms, and food-processing facilities, while KVK experts will guide practical training.
The curriculum is aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) to enhance employability, entrepreneurship, and career readiness.
OSEPA’s Deputy Director of Vocational Education outlined the implementation modalities, while OUAT officials addressed queries from participants.
The collaboration is expected to bridge classroom learning with real-world agricultural skills, preparing Odisha’s youth for future opportunities.
