Odisha’s Most Wanted Kalia Shot in Police Encounter
Ganjam, Odisha: Notorious criminal Ghanshyam Behera, alias Kalia, was injured in a police encounter on the Kodala–Singhasini road under Purushottampur area.
According to police, Kalia opened fire at officers led by Purushottampur IIC Kulamani Sethy, prompting retaliation in which he was shot in the knee.
Kalia, who has a long criminal record including murder, attempt to murder, theft, and dacoity, was wanted in three cases registered at Purushottampur police station.
He had been absconding for several months. Police have taken him into custody, and further investigation is underway.
