Odisha Vigilance Seizes Cash and Gold from Kendujhar Labour Officer

Kendujhar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Sunday caught District Labour Officer (DLO) Akash Bisoi while allegedly accepting a Rs 20,000 bribe from an electrical contractor for issuing a labour licence.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches were conducted at Bisoi’s government residence and other locations.

During the raid, Vigilance recovered Rs 7.29 lakh in cash and approximately 300 grams of gold jewellery from his Kendujhar quarter.

The Vigilance department has initiated a disproportionate assets (DA) case against Bisoi.

Investigations are underway to assess the extent of his assets and possible irregularities.

Officials confirmed that further details will be shared after completion of the probe.

This case underscores Odisha Vigilance’s intensified crackdown on corruption among government officials.
