Odisha Vigilance Apprehends Revenue Inspector for Bribe in Sundargarh

Odisha Vigilance officials apprehended Anita Jena, Revenue Inspector (RI) of Kalosihiria under Kuarmunda Tahasil, Sundargarh district, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000.

The bribe was sought from an applicant seeking a demarcation report of ancestral land.

According to reports, the applicant had applied months earlier, but Jena allegedly delayed the process and demanded money to proceed.

Acting on the complaint, Vigilance officials laid a trap and caught her red‑handed while accepting the bribe.

The tainted money was recovered and seized.

Simultaneous searches are underway at three locations linked to Jena to investigate disproportionate assets.

A case has been registered at Rourkela Vigilance Police Station under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
