Odisha Twins Choose Togetherness Over Prestige in JEE Advanced 2026
In an inspiring tale of family and perseverance, twin brothers Maharuf and Masroor from Odisha have achieved remarkable success in the JEE Advanced 2026 examination.
Maharuf secured All India Rank (AIR) 32, while Masroor earned AIR 169 after three years of rigorous preparation in Kota.
Despite qualifying for the coveted Computer Science Engineering program at IIT Bombay, Maharuf made the unusual choice to join IIT Madras so he could study alongside his brother.
His decision highlights the value of family bonds over individual prestige.
The twins’ disciplined routine of coaching, self‑study, mock tests, and revision was supported by their parents’ sacrifices.
Their father, Dr Mansoor Ahmad Khan, works at IIT Bhubaneswar, while their mother, Dr Zeenat Begum, left her job to relocate to Kota and provide constant support.
Coming from a family of medical professionals, the brothers chose engineering over medicine, setting their sights on careers in Computer Science.
Their journey has inspired students across India, proving that success is sweeter when shared.
