Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s recent visit to the United Arab Emirates has opened a new chapter in the state’s industrial growth.

The delegation secured investment proposals worth ₹2.43 lakh crore, expected to generate nearly 9 lakh jobs, including 6.18 lakh direct opportunities.

The four‑day mission featured 52 business meetings, six roundtables, and 46 one‑to‑one interactions with over 400 industry leaders.

The outcome included eight MoUs and 16 investment intents, strengthening Odisha’s position as a preferred investment destination.

Key projects include aluminium ventures in Rayagada and Sundargarh, with strategic partnerships between IHC and the Adani Group.

With this, Odisha’s cumulative investment proposals now stand at ₹22.5 lakh crore.

CM Majhi described the UAE tour as a “new chapter” in Odisha’s industrialisation, aligning with the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025.

The government emphasised youth employment, skill development, and a long‑term vision to transform Odisha into a $500 billion economy by 2036.

Industries Minister Samapad Chandra Swain dismissed opposition criticism, asserting that Odisha’s development in the past two years equals a decade’s progress.

The visit also reinforced cultural and business ties with Odia entrepreneurs and expatriates in the UAE.
