Odisha Police Unearth Assets Worth Crores in Raid on Alleged Cattle Smuggling Kingpin

Odisha Police have launched a major crackdown on alleged cattle smuggling operations in Mayurbhanj district, targeting prime accused Uttam Dandapat.

In coordinated raids across seven locations, authorities seized assets including nearly 200 grams of gold, 500 grams of silver, Rs 1.20 lakh in cash, and landed properties valued at around Rs 2 crore.

Investigators suspect the smuggling network moved cattle from Bhadrak, Balasore, Bargarh, and Keonjhar through Mayurbhanj into West Bengal.

While Dandapat remains absconding, police have intensified their manhunt and are scrutinising financial records to uncover links to other illegal activities.

Officials emphasised that the operation is part of a broader effort to dismantle organised crime and interstate trafficking networks in Odisha.
