Odisha Police on High Alert for NEET‑UG 2026

Bhubaneswar: With the NEET‑UG 2026 examination scheduled for June 21 across 132 centres in Odisha, the state police have rolled out a massive three‑tier security plan to ensure fair and transparent conduct.

Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania chaired a high‑level review meeting, directing senior officers to enforce strict law and order inside and outside exam centres.

The plan includes round‑the‑clock CCTV surveillance, secure storage of question papers in bank lockers, smooth traffic management, and emergency response readiness.

Officials will also monitor social media to counter fake news and misinformation.

Special emphasis has been placed on the safe collection and transfer of OMR sheets after the exam.

Senior officers, including ADG (Crime Branch) Binaytosh Mishra, ADG (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar, and IG (Central Range) Dr Satyajit Naik attended the meeting, while Range IGs/DIGs and District SPs joined virtually.

The DGP reiterated a zero‑tolerance policy against malpractice, stressing that the future of lakhs of medical aspirants must be safeguarded through strict vigilance and accountability.
