Odisha Miniature Artist Crafts Eco-Friendly Ganesh Pandal from Waste Materials

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s celebrated miniature artist L. Eshwar Rao has once again captivated audiences with his creativity and environmental message.

For Ganesh Puja 2026, Rao has designed a 9-inch Ganesh pandal using discarded materials such as waste paper, cardboard, and thread.

The intricate pandal houses a two-inch stone idol of Lord Ganesh, symbolising devotion blended with sustainability.

Rao dedicated seven days to the creation, emphasising the importance of eco-friendly practices during festive celebrations.

Through his art, Rao appeals to the public to avoid plastic and Plaster of Paris idols, which harm the environment.

His miniature masterpiece continues his tradition of producing unique artworks for Ganesh Puja, combining cultural heritage with modern awareness.

Extending festive wishes, Rao urged people across Odisha to celebrate responsibly and adopt sustainable alternatives in their rituals.
