Odisha Health Dept: No Cause for Panic Over COVID-19 Uptick

The Odisha Health & Family Welfare Department has reassured citizens that the recent rise in COVID-19 cases is a seasonal trend and not a cause for alarm.

Officials emphasised that the increase is limited and consistent with expected seasonal variations, rather than an alarming surge.

The department confirmed that the situation is being closely monitored under guidelines from the Government of India, with independent assessments by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Both agencies have validated that the current rise is seasonal in nature.

Routine surveillance and clinical vigilance remain in place, and the health system is fully prepared to respond should conditions change.

Authorities also highlighted ongoing coordination with the Centre to ensure timely interventions if required.

Citizens are urged to remain cautious but not fearful, as the state continues to maintain robust preparedness and monitoring mechanisms.
