Odisha Govt Fast-Tracks Hi-Tech Land Survey in Subarnapur
The Odisha government has accelerated the hi-tech land survey and settlement process in Subarnapur district, aiming to deliver digital land records to residents well ahead of schedule.
Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari directed officials to complete surveys in the remaining villages within six months, with the entire project slated to conclude by November 2026.
Out of 989 villages, surveys have already been completed in 608. Pattas (land ownership documents) for these villages will be prepared, uploaded to the Bhulekh portal, and distributed in three phases within 45 days.
The government has emphasised accuracy, mandating verification of both old (sabik) and current (hal) records to avoid discrepancies.
Strict measures will be taken against encroachment on government and devottar (temple trust) lands. Public grievances regarding pattas will be resolved through field inspections in a fair and time-bound manner.
To ensure smooth execution, an additional Deputy Collector will be posted exclusively for this project, while the Director of Land Records will personally monitor progress.
Senior officials, including Revenue Secretary Dr Arabinda K Padhee, Director Nigamananda Panda, and Subarnapur Collector Dr Nruparaj Sahu, attended the review meeting.
The initiative promises to simplify access to revenue services and provide long-awaited relief to the people of Subarnapur.
