Odisha Doctors Call Off Strike After Govt Assurances
Bhubaneswar: Healthcare services across Odisha are set to normalise as doctors suspended their four‑day strike following successful discussions with the state government at Lok Seva Bhawan.
The Odisha Medical Services Association (OMSA) announced that doctors will resume duties from Saturday.
Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling confirmed that a high‑level committee has been formed to examine OMSA’s demands.
The committee will include senior officials from the Finance, General Administration, Health & Family Welfare, and Law departments, with its first meeting scheduled for July 22.
OMSA President Dr Kishore Chandra Mishra stated that the association agreed to withdraw the protest after receiving assurances that their concerns would be addressed.
The Health Minister expressed sympathy for the doctors’ legitimate demands and promised a thorough review.
The suspension of the strike brings relief to patients and hospitals, ensuring uninterrupted medical services across the state.
