Odisha CM Unveils Shree Jagannath Temple’s 2026 Calendars Showcasing Rath Yatra & Traditional Art

Puri, December 18: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday unveiled the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration’s (SJTA) wall calendar, desk calendar, and special diary for the English New Year 2026.

The launch ceremony was held at the Shree Mandir in Puri after the first copies were offered to Lord Jagannath on the auspicious occasion of Dhanu Sankranti.

The publications feature exquisite depictions of Mahaprabhu Lord Jagannath in various divine attires (beshas) and grand scenes from the world-famous Rath Yatra.

Rendered through traditional Odisha art forms—including sand art (baluka kala), pattachitra, palm leaf engraving (talapatra khodai), and stone carving—the calendars and diary serve as cultural treasures that highlight Odisha’s rich heritage.

Speaking at the event, CM Majhi emphasised the importance of these publications in promoting devotion and preserving Odisha’s artistic traditions.

The calendars and diaries will soon be available for devotees at Shree Mandir Information Centres in Puri and Bhubaneswar.

The ceremony was attended by SJTA Chief Administrator Dr Arabinda K Padhee, Law Department Principal Secretary Dr Pabitra Mohan Samal, Puri District Collector Dibyajyoti Parida, Superintendent of Police Prateek Singh, and SJTA administrators Debarata Sahu and Jitendra Kumar Sahu.
