Odisha CM Orders Crime Branch Probe Into Missing Naidu Report

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed the Crime Branch to investigate the disappearance of the Naidu Commission report, which examined communal riots in the state.

The report, submitted years ago, has reportedly gone missing from official records, raising serious questions about accountability and transparency.

The CM emphasised that the probe must identify how the report vanished and fix responsibility on those involved.

Opposition parties have strongly criticised the government, alleging deliberate suppression of findings.

Civil society groups have also demanded immediate disclosure of the report’s contents, citing public interest.

The Crime Branch has been tasked with retrieving the report and ensuring that its recommendations are not lost to history.

This move comes amid growing political pressure and calls for justice for victims of past communal violence.
