Odisha CM Approves Daily Allowance Hike for Home Guards
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced an increase in the Duty Call‑up Allowance (DCA) for Home Guards in Odisha.
The daily allowance has been raised from 639 to 650, effective retrospectively from January 1, 2026.
This marks the second hike in less than a year, following the July 2025 revision from 623 to 639.
The decision is aimed at strengthening financial support for Home Guards, who play a vital role in assisting police with law and order, disaster management, and security duties.
Officials highlighted that the move ensures parity with regular government employees, who recently received a 2% Dearness Allowance (DA) hike effective from the same date.
The government emphasised that the revision acknowledges the crucial services rendered by Home Guards across the state.
