Odisha Clears ₹76,612 Cr Mega Projects, 50,000+ Jobs Expected
Bhubaneswar: In a landmark move coinciding with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s two‑year completion in office, Odisha’s High‑Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) has approved 20 major projects worth Rs 76,611.86 crore.
Spread across nine districts, these investments are projected to generate over 50,517 jobs, reinforcing Odisha’s position as a preferred industrial destination.
The approvals span diverse sectors including lab‑grown diamonds, green energy, rare earths, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and steel.
Notable projects include Tata Power Renewable Energy’s Rs 10,000 crore solar PV facility in Ganjam, Rashmi Metallurgical’s Rs 15,000 crore integrated steel plant in Jajpur, and Larsen & Toubro’s Rs 2,400 crore sintered magnets unit.
Khordha will emerge as a hub for lab‑grown diamonds with three units worth Rs 9,817.50 crore, while Ganjam will see major renewable energy investments.
Rare earth and advanced material projects by N.A.N. Magnetech, World Titanium Industry, and others highlight Odisha’s push into future‑ready industries.
The HLCA emphasised that these projects align with the vision of “Samruddha Odisha by 2036” and contribute to India’s national goal of “Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
The government reiterated its commitment to ease of doing business, proactive facilitation, and inclusive growth.
