Anugola Police Solve Gold Robbery in 12 Hours

In a swift and coordinated operation, Anugola Police solved a daring armed robbery at Balaji Gold Refineries in Talcher within just 12 hours.

On June 17, armed miscreants looted 230 grams of gold, 60 grams of ornaments, and 700 grams of silver, abducting an employee at gunpoint before fleeing in a Hyundai Verna with fake plates.

Five special teams were formed, using CCTV footage and technical intelligence to track the suspects.

The getaway vehicle was later found abandoned near Chuliapur jungle. During a forest operation, the accused allegedly opened fire on police, prompting controlled retaliatory firing.

Two suspects sustained leg injuries.

Four accused — Sachin Gajge, Prakash Madne, Rajesh Madne, and Deba Prabhakar Lokhande, all from Maharashtra — were arrested.

Police recovered the stolen ornaments, two country‑made firearms, live ammunition, and the getaway car.

One accused remains absconding, and investigations continue into possible wider criminal links.

The breakthrough has been hailed as a major success, boosting public confidence in Anugola Police’s efficiency and determination against organised crime.
