Odisha Cabinet Clears New Cadre Rules to Boost ESI Healthcare

Bhubaneswar, April 10: The Odisha Cabinet has approved new cadre rules and amendments aimed at strengthening healthcare administration under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) scheme.

The Odisha Employees’ State Insurance Scheme Ministerial Service Rules, 2026, will regulate recruitment, promotion, and service conditions of ministerial staff in ESI hospitals and dispensaries.

Officials said the move is designed to streamline administration and ensure better support for healthcare delivery.

Additionally, amendments to the Odisha Employees’ State Insurance Medical Service Rules, 2014, were cleared to improve transparency and efficiency in the recruitment of medical officers.

These changes align selection processes with current examination practices, ensuring fairness and accountability.

Together, the reforms are expected to enhance the functioning of ESI hospitals and dispensaries across the state, benefitting thousands of insured workers and their families.
