Odisha Cabinet Clears 10 Key Proposals Across Seven Departments

Bhubaneswar, May 20: The Odisha Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, convened its 40th meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan and approved 10 key proposals across seven departments.

Chief Secretary Anu Garg briefed the media on the decisions, highlighting the government’s focus on welfare, governance, and infrastructure.

The proposals spanned diverse sectors:

  • Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department – strengthening cultural initiatives.
  • Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department – measures to boost livelihood and rural economy.
  • ST & SC Development Department – welfare schemes for marginalised communities.
  • Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Department – initiatives to enhance food security.
  • Law Department – three proposals aimed at legal and judicial reforms.
  • Energy Department – two proposals to improve power infrastructure and reliability.

A major highlight was the decision to convene a special session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly to address urgent legislative business.

The Cabinet’s approvals reflect the administration’s emphasis on development, welfare, and governance reforms.
