Newborn Abandoned in Koraput Orchard, Rescued by Police
Koraput, Odisha: A shocking incident unfolded in Kakirigumma village of Laxmipur block, Koraput district, when locals discovered a newborn baby boy abandoned in a banana orchard near Santoshi Colony on Sunday morning.
Residents rushed to the spot after hearing the infant’s cries and immediately alerted the police.
Kakirigumma Police, along with officials from the Child Protection Society, rescued the baby and shifted him to a nearby hospital. Doctors confirmed that the child is stable and under observation.
Authorities have launched an investigation to trace those responsible for abandoning the newborn.
The incident has sparked concern in the community, highlighting the urgent need for awareness and stronger measures to prevent such cases of neglect.
