Minister Pujari: State Fully Equipped to Face Cyclones

Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari has assured that the state government remains fully prepared throughout the year to tackle natural disasters, including cyclones.

Speaking on disaster readiness, Pujari highlighted that while private agencies may issue forecasts, the government relies on its own robust systems and remains confident in its preparedness.

He emphasised faith in Lord Jagannath’s blessings during calamities, reinforcing public confidence in the state’s resilience.

To strengthen early warning mechanisms, Odisha is expanding its Doppler radar network.

A radar has already been installed in Sambalpur, with additional units set to become operational in Bhubaneswar, Baleshwar, and Gopalpur by December.

The minister also noted that meteorological data from neighbouring states such as Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will be integrated to enhance advance warnings and preventive measures.

This multi‑state coordination aims to ensure timely alerts and safeguard communities across Odisha.
