Light to Moderate Rain Likely in Five Odisha Districts Within Three Hours

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning at 11:40 am, forecasting light to moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms in several districts of Odisha.

According to the IMD, Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar, Baleshwar, Rayagada, and Malkangiri are expected to experience showers within the next three hours.

Residents in these areas are advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions against sudden weather changes.

The IMD’s short‑term forecast system aims to provide timely alerts to minimise risks and ensure public safety.

Authorities have urged people to stay indoors during thunderstorms and avoid open areas to reduce exposure to lightning strikes.
