A festive evening in Kasaba village, Jajpur district, turned chaotic when a violent clash erupted during the concluding night of a three‑day Pala performance.
The confrontation between the Bautra Sahi and Jia Sahi groups escalated from a minor dispute into stone‑pelting and stick attacks, leaving more than 20 villagers injured.
Eyewitnesses reported that even children were targeted, sparking panic among the audience. Villagers allege that the violence was premeditated, aimed at disrupting the harmony and tradition of the annual Pala.
