Governor Felicitates Pattnaik for Global Victory in Sand Art

Bhubaneswar, June 2026: Odisha’s pride, Padma Shri sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik, has scripted history by winning the Russian Grand Sand Master Cup 2026 in Kaliningrad.

He is the first Indian to claim this prestigious international title, bringing global recognition to Indian sand art.

Pattnaik’s award‑winning sculpture carried a powerful message on climate change, highlighting the urgent need for collective action to safeguard humanity.

His artistry once again demonstrated how temporary mediums can deliver lasting social and environmental impact.

On his return, Pattnaik was felicitated by Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati at Lok Bhavan.

The Governor praised him for elevating Odisha’s cultural heritage on the world stage and expressed confidence that Pattnaik’s creativity will continue to inspire future generations.

This victory adds to Pattnaik’s long list of international accolades and reinforces Odisha’s position as a hub of artistic excellence.
