Divine Homecoming: Rath Yatra 2026 Concludes with Niladri Bije

Puri witnessed the spiritual climax of Rath Yatra 2026 as Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra, and Sudarshan returned to the Srimandir in the sacred ritual of Niladri Bije.

After 12 days of celestial leela on the Bada Danda, the deities re‑entered the sanctum amid chants of “Jai Jagannath” from lakhs of devotees.

The rituals began with Sandhya Dhupa and decoration of the chariots with Charamala, followed by Singhasana Majana.

In the Goti Pahandi procession, the deities entered one by one—Ram‑Krishna and Madanmohan, Sudarshan, Balabhadra, Subhadra, and finally Lord Jagannath.

A highlight of the tradition was Goddess Lakshmi’s symbolic anger for being left behind.

Lord Jagannath offered her rasagola, marking reconciliation and divine love.

This is the only day in the year when rasagola is offered as bhog in the temple.

With Sunabesha, Adharapana, and Niladri Bije completed, the Srimandir resumes its daily niti.

The festival’s conclusion reaffirmed the cultural essence of Jagannath tradition, leaving devotees in anticipation of next year’s Yatra.
