Dhenkanal: Bomb Blast During Hunting Attempt Injures Three
A late‑night hunting attempt turned tragic in Gandataila under Parajang police limits, Dhenkanal district, when a crude explosive device detonated on Thursday, June 18.
According to police, locals were preparing bombs intended for animal hunting when one exploded, leaving three people critically injured.
One victim lost a hand in the blast, while two others sustained severe burn injuries.
All three were rushed to hospital in critical condition. Authorities have confirmed that the explosives were being prepared illegally, and an investigation is underway into the incident.
Police have urged residents to refrain from using dangerous methods for hunting, warning of the risks posed by crude bombs to both human life and wildlife.
