CM Majhi: Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam is a Flight of Dreams for Millions of Women
Bhubaneswar, April 15: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hailed the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam as a transformative step in women’s empowerment, describing it as “not just a law, but the flight of dreams for millions of women.”
The legislation mandates one‑third reservation for women in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, ensuring their direct role in shaping policy.
Majhi highlighted Odisha’s strong grassroots representation, with 14.5 lakh women leaders in Panchayati Raj institutions, and emphasized initiatives like Subhadra Yojana and Lakshapati Didi to foster economic independence.
He urged collective support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s women-led development agenda, calling empowered women the foundation of a prosperous Odisha and India.
