Breaking Stigma: Odisha’s Intensified HIV/STI Awareness Drive Gains Momentum

The Odisha State AIDS Control Society (OSACS), in collaboration with the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), has launched the Intensified IEC Campaign 3.0 to combat stigma and misinformation surrounding HIV, AIDS, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Over the past four weeks, the campaign has reached communities across urban centres, rural villages, and educational institutions.

More than 45,200 people participated in Gram Panchayat and village-level meetings, while 47,300 students were sensitised through structured workshops.

Additionally, 14,600 households were covered through door-to-door outreach.

The initiative emphasises open dialogue on sexual health, encourages voluntary testing, and promotes preventive practices.

By blending grassroots engagement, youth-focused education, and household outreach, the campaign is building a more empathetic and informed environment across Odisha.
