Bargarh Panchayat Samiti Member Shot Dead in Subarnapur
A shocking incident unfolded late Thursday night in Subarnapur district when Panchayat Samiti member Achyuta Nayak from Bargarh was gunned down by unidentified assailants.
The attack occurred on the Chinajuri canal road under Dunguripali block.
According to reports, Nayak was lured to the spot by repeated phone calls promising ₹10,000. Upon arriving in his car, miscreants opened fire, fatally injuring him in the neck.
His body was later discovered inside the vehicle, and police recovered a spent cartridge from the scene.
His father, Sabhapati Nayak, confirmed that his son left home after receiving persistent calls from an unknown person.
Police teams from Dunguripali and Barpali stations have launched an investigation, examining call records and forensic evidence.
The motive and identity of the attackers remain unclear.
