Balasore Hotel Worker Brutally Murdered in Puri
Puri: Tension gripped the holy town of Puri after a hotel worker from Balasore was found murdered near SCS (Autonomous) College Square late Friday night.
The deceased, identified as Smarak C alias Kuna, was employed as a helper in a local hotel.
According to eyewitnesses, Kuna sustained severe injuries to his stomach and collapsed near the square. He was rushed to the district hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Puri Superintendent of Police, Prateek Singh, confirmed the incident as a case of murder. Police immediately cordoned off the area and registered a case.
A forensic team was deployed to collect evidence and trace the culprits.
The shocking incident has sparked concern among residents, who expressed alarm over the rising crime rate in the pilgrimage town.
