Balangir SP Cracks Down: Salebhata Officer Suspended Over Liquor Scam
Balangir Superintendent of Police has suspended Bharat Sahu, officer‑in‑charge of the Salebhata outpost under Loisingha police station, following serious allegations of negligence and misconduct.
According to reports, seized liquor went missing from the police station, raising questions about accountability.
Records showed only 10 bottles were officially listed, while nearly 100 bottles had actually been seized from Montu Dhaba near Salebhata.
Complaints also alleged Sahu’s links with the sand mafia and cattle‑smuggling mafia.
Acting on the complaint, the SP directed the Sub‑Divisional Police Officer and Loisingha Inspector‑in‑Charge to conduct an inquiry.
The investigation confirmed negligence in duty.
Following the findings, the SP ordered Sahu’s suspension and directed him to report daily at the Kantabanji SDPO office.
The action underscores the district police’s commitment to transparency and discipline.
