ACS Usha Padhee Reviews Rath Yatra Readiness in Puri
Puri, Odisha: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Usha Padhee chaired a high‑level review meeting at Puri Circuit House to assess preparations for the upcoming Rath Yatra 2026.
Key directives included completion of road repairs, drain cleaning, and ensuring uninterrupted water supply.
Padhee emphasised strict enforcement against garbage dumping and construction debris, warning of heavy penalties for violators.
The Housing and Urban Development Department has prepared a joint action plan with local agencies, while Puri Collector Dibyajyoti Parida will conduct weekly reviews.
Special focus was placed on stormwater management along Grand Road (Badadanda), given the overlap with monsoon season.
Municipal Commissioner Sneha Agrawal confirmed that all open drains will be covered with concrete slabs by June 30.
Twice‑daily sanitation drives, anti‑encroachment operations, and stray‑cattle relocation are underway.
Public health measures include a ban on cooked‑food distribution along Badadanda during the festival.
Padhee also inspected key project sites with senior officials, including SP Prateek Singh and Shrimandir Managing Committee members, to ensure readiness.
