Villagers Lock Headmaster and Teachers in Balasore School Over Transfer Row
Balasore, April 27: Tension erupted at Shasanpada UG UP School in Remuna block, Balasore, after villagers and parents locked the headmaster and two female teachers inside the office room for nearly three hours.
The incident stemmed from the transfer of teacher Shubhasmita Padhi, which parents and school committee members alleged was carried out without proper consultation.
When they sought clarification, the headmaster reportedly misbehaved, further aggravating the situation.
In protest, villagers confined the headmaster and teachers inside the office. The Khantapada police later intervened, pacifying the crowd and restoring order.
The episode underscores growing community unrest over teacher transfers and calls for greater accountability in school administration.
