Three Policemen Stabbed During Patrol in Cuttack

Cuttack, April 30: Tension gripped OMP 6th Battalion premises in Cuttack late Wednesday night after three police personnel were stabbed during patrol duty.

The incident occurred when a patrolling team asked a young couple to leave the area near a pond. The couple allegedly turned violent and attacked the officers with knives.

The policemen sustained injuries on their necks, backs, and hands and were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Officials confirmed that the injured officers are currently stable.

Following the attack, Chauliaganj police registered a case and launched an investigation.

Evidence was collected from the scene, and witness statements were recorded to identify the attackers and establish the motive.

Senior officials have ordered stricter monitoring in sensitive areas and directed the department to strengthen patrol protocols to prevent similar incidents.

The assault has raised serious concerns about night patrol safety in Cuttack.
