Suna Besha Rath Yatra 2026: Lord Jagannath Dazzles in Golden Attire at Puri

Puri, July 25, 2026: The holy city of Puri witnessed a dazzling spectacle as Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Sudarshan were adorned in Suna Besha (golden attire) atop their chariots following the Bahuda Yatra.

Lakhs of devotees thronged the Singhadwara to catch a glimpse of the deities, resplendent in crowns, golden ornaments, and divine weapons.

The ritual, observed five times annually, holds special significance during Rath Yatra as it allows devotees to receive darshan outside the sanctum.

The three grand chariots—Nandighosha, Taladhwaja, and Darpadalana—stood as the centrepieces of devotion, surrounded by chants of “Jai Jagannath.”

Despite the massive influx of pilgrims from across India and abroad, temple authorities and security forces ensured smooth arrangements.

The glowing golden forms of the deities illuminated the evening, reinforcing Puri’s identity as the abode of the Lord of the Universe.
