Sital Sasthi Festival 2026: Sambalpur Witnesses Grand Jugal Darshan of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati
Sambalpur came alive with devotion and festivity as thousands of devotees gathered to witness the grand Jugal Darshan of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati during the annual Sital Sasthi festival.
The divine couple, adorned with gold and silver ornaments, was taken out in a magnificent procession following their ceremonial wedding.
The celebrations began with a Maha Aarti late Friday night, continuing into Saturday morning before resuming at 9 am.
The streets of Sambalpur were filled with vibrant cultural performances, including folk dances, devotional music, and artistic displays by thousands of participants.
The Sital Sasthi festival, symbolising the union of Shiva and Shakti, holds immense spiritual significance and draws devotees from across Odisha and neighbouring states.
Much like the world‑famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, this festival reinforces Odisha’s rich cultural heritage and strengthens Sambalpur’s reputation as a hub of spiritual tourism.
