Sambalpur Youth Shot Dead, Accused Nabbed

A shocking incident unfolded in Hindarai village under Naktideul block of Sambalpur district on Friday afternoon.

Bharat Dandasena was fatally shot near a mango orchard around 3 PM.

The accused, identified as 60‑year‑old Karuna Kar Majhi, allegedly fired a country‑made gun while intoxicated.

Following the crime, Majhi fled the scene but was apprehended on Saturday after a swift police investigation.

The firearm used in the attack was seized, and a case has been registered at Rairakhol police station.

The accused has been forwarded to court for legal proceedings.
