Rayagada Truck Owners’ Association Faces ₹80 Crore Scam Allegations
Rayagada, Odisha – A massive financial scandal has rocked the Rayagada Truck Owners’ Association, with allegations of embezzlement amounting to nearly Rs 80 crore over four decades.
The FIR names former Rajya Sabha MP N. Bhaskar Rao and several ex‑office bearers, accused of siphoning funds and destroying vital documents to conceal evidence.
Current association president Yala Venkateshwar Rao lodged the complaint, urging the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to probe the irregularities.
Rayagada Town Police registered Case No. 255/2026 under IPC sections related to cheating, breach of trust, extortion, and intimidation.
Meanwhile, accused individuals, including B. Manmath Rao, sought pre‑arrest bail from the Odisha High Court.
A division bench led by Justice V. Narasimha granted interim protection until August 31, directing the accused to cooperate with investigators.
The court also instructed state counsel to collect the case diary before the next hearing.
The scandal has drawn widespread public attention, with calls for a thorough investigation into decades of financial mismanagement.
