Puri Food Poisoning Incident: Over 50 Villagers Fall Ill After Eating Dahibara
More than 50 residents of Tentulia village in Kakatpur block, Puri district, were hospitalised after consuming Dahibara from a local hawker.
By evening, many reported vomiting, diarrhoea, and dizziness.
The affected were rushed to Bangurigaon Community Health Centre, where most recovered after treatment and returned home.
Villagers alleged negligence in healthcare services, pointing to a shortage of doctors at the centre.
Health officials have collected food samples and initiated an inquiry into the cause of the food poisoning.
The incident has sparked concern over food safety and hygiene standards in rural markets.
