Odisha Govt Calls for Data on Long‑Serving GRSs

The Government of Odisha has directed all District Collectors to furnish detailed information on Gram Rozgar Sevaks (GRSs) who have completed five years or more of continuous service.

The Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department has asked districts to compile particulars such as name, parent’s name, gender, and social category within 15 days.

This initiative aims to create a consolidated database of long-serving GRSs, which will support administrative decisions and proposals for service regularisation.

The move follows earlier reviews on absorbing eligible GRSs into Account‑cum‑Data Entry Operator (ADEO) posts, strengthening rural employment administration under MGNREGA.

Officials believe the exercise will streamline workforce management and ensure better delivery of welfare schemes in Odisha’s villages.
