Odisha Weather Update: Night Temperatures Rise as Cold Wave Weakens Under Western Disturbances
Bhubaneswar: Odisha is witnessing a gradual rise in night temperatures as the cold wave conditions ease under the influence of active western disturbances.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that minimum temperatures across several districts have increased, bringing relief to residents who had been experiencing biting cold over the past week.
According to IMD forecasts, minimum temperatures are likely to fluctuate by 2–4°C over the next four days, further weakening the cold wave.
The change is attributed to moisture-laden winds from western disturbances, which are moderating the chill in the atmosphere.
Despite the rise in temperatures, foggy conditions are expected to persist in parts of the state.
Districts including Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Kalahandi are likely to witness light to moderate fog during early mornings and late nights over the next two days.
Authorities have advised commuters to exercise caution, particularly on highways and rural roads, where reduced visibility could pose risks.
While the cold wave is subsiding, Odisha remains firmly in winter, with foggy mornings reminding residents of the season’s lingering presence.
