Odisha Vigilance Raids Senior Engineer Over Disproportionate Assets Allegations

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials launched multi-location raids on properties linked to Rajesh Chandra Mohanty, Additional Chief Engineer in the Central Irrigation Circle, Bhubaneswar, following allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Acting on warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack, teams comprising senior officers, DSPs, inspectors, and support staff searched six locations, including Mohanty’s residence in Baramunda Housing Board Colony, his paternal home in Jajpur, a relative’s house in Dhenkanal, his office chamber in Bhubaneswar, a farmhouse in Bhapur, and the residence of a close associate in Cuttack.

The searches are ongoing, and officials have stated that findings will be shared upon completion.

Vigilance authorities reaffirmed their commitment to transparency and accountability, emphasising their continued crackdown on corruption and misuse of public office.
