Odisha Police SI Recruitment Scam: CBI Grills Trio, Retired IPS Officer Named
Bhubaneswar, Dec 20: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its probe into the Police Sub‑Inspector (SI) recruitment scam, taking three prime accused—Shankar Prusti, Suresh Nayak, and Sagar Gouda—into four‑day custody for marathon interrogation.
According to sources, the trio was first grilled separately by three CBI teams before being confronted together.
Investigators focused on how they came into contact, their past experiences with government examinations, and whether senior officials or political leaders were involved in the Rs 1000Rs crore racket.
During questioning, startling revelations emerged, including the alleged role of a retired senior IPS officer. The accused reportedly named influential figures, now under the CBI scanner.
Officials are verifying the authenticity of these statements before proceeding further.
The disclosures have triggered widespread concern in political and administrative circles. With three more days of remand remaining, anxiety among high‑profile individuals linked to the case is mounting.
Meanwhile, Odisha witnessed festive cheer with a grand Pre‑Christmas celebration at Udayagiri and sporting triumph as India defeated South Africa by 30 runs in a T20I clash.
