Odisha Police Launches Statewide Cyber Security Awareness Campaign with Cyber Raths

In a landmark initiative to strengthen digital safety across the state, Odisha Police has launched a comprehensive Cyber Security Awareness Campaign.

The program, inaugurated on October 18, 2025, by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, features 16 specially equipped “cyber raths” travelling through urban and rural areas to educate citizens about online threats.

These mobile units, fitted with LED panels, display engaging video messages on fraud techniques and preventive measures. The campaign has already reached over one lakh citizens through rallies, seminars, workshops, and public meetings across all 33 police districts.

Key focus areas include fraudulent phone calls, OTP phishing, UPI scams, sextortion, loan app frauds, and social media blackmail.

District police units are organising walkathons, cultural programs, and street plays with local artists, making cybersecurity awareness both informative and entertaining.

Interactive sessions with students, quizzes, and social media promotions further amplify the campaign’s reach.

Odisha Police emphasises that cybersecurity is both a fundamental right and responsibility, urging citizens to remain vigilant in the digital age. The initiative aims to significantly reduce cybercrime rates by empowering people with practical knowledge and awareness
