Odisha Finance Department Warns Officers Defying Transfer Orders
The Odisha Finance Department has issued a stern directive to officers who continue to defy transfer orders.
In a circular, the department warned that officers failing to join their new postings by 20 July 2026 will face a salary freeze starting 21 July 2026.
On 16 April 2026, the department transferred 90 officers of the Odisha Finance Service (OFS).
However, several officers have not reported to their new assignments even after three months.
The department emphasised that repeated non‑compliance undermines administrative discipline and smooth governance.
Officials who ignore the directive will not only lose salary privileges but also face disciplinary proceedings.
The order has been circulated to all relevant departments, including the Office of the Accountant General and district authorities, to ensure strict enforcement.
