Odisha Cold Wave Eases: IMD Predicts Night Temperatures to Rise, Phulbani Coldest at 8°C
Odisha residents are experiencing mild relief from the biting cold wave that gripped the state over the past week.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the severity of the chill has weakened since Tuesday and is expected to ease further in the coming days.
The IMD has forecast a gradual increase of 2–3°C in night temperatures across Odisha over the next three days.
However, interior, northern, and southern districts may continue to feel cold during early mornings and late nights due to local weather patterns.
Phulbani recorded the state’s lowest temperature at 8°C in the past 24 hours, while Rourkela also experienced colder conditions influenced by regional atmospheric factors.
Despite the overall improvement, mornings and evenings remain chilly in many areas.
Health experts have advised residents—particularly children, senior citizens, and those with respiratory sensitivities—to avoid prolonged exposure to cold winds, dress warmly, and stay alert to seasonal illnesses as temperatures fluctuate.
With temperatures expected to rise moderately, Odisha residents can anticipate gradual relief from the intense cold, though some districts may continue to register lower readings.
